The year was either 1992 or 1993 when I went to visit a friend who was attending Ceina Heights college in Adrian, Michigan (I was from Toledo, OH at the time). She and another friend suggested visiting one of the local cemeteries, which they had visited before to get some head marker rubbings.
The day was beautiful and the cemetery was full of visitors, either visiting loved ones or just to take a look around. Now at this point, I have to admit that I have no idea what the name of the cemetery is. I tried looking it up on the web and found out that there are only two cemeteries in Adrian, so it shouldn't be that hard to find. It has been sixteen years since I've been there and I would have no way of recognizing it unless I went inside. Some of my family is into ghosts and such, but not many are willing to go looking for them!
The three of us friends were taking a leisurely stroll around the grounds on the black top drive. As we were heading around the bend there was a very old mausoleum in the corner and as we were commenting on it, a small, white, "rough" looking dog came walking towards us.
I had said something about how strange it was for a dog to just be walking all alone in a cemetery. We didn't think too much about it and kept on walking and talking.
We had been out there for a while and decided to head back to the car. At this time we had rounded what I would call an island, and I got this really funny feeling. Something made me turn around and there was that dog, standing just inside the grassy area. He was staring at me like he knew I could see him. Well, let me tell you! The hair on the back of my neck and arms stood straight up, a chill ran down my spine and the skin on my arms literally crawled. I couldn't get to the car fast enough.
In all the time that has past, I have never felt like that again. I was just wondering if anyone else has had felt anything in that cemetery, or if it was just a weird "off" day. I haven't had a chance to go back and see if that dog is still there, but would like to someday soon.
